Portland Wrestling Uncut T.V. recap - 1/26/13

-Don Coss & Roddy Piper open the show

-PNW champ Daivari comes out and issues an open challenge, which brings out six or seven challengers from the back.  Daivari back peddles when Exile and Dr. Kliever, who are really big, get in his face.  He then somehow notices Eric Right, who is a small guy (actually about the same size as Daivari), behind them, and agrees to put the title on the line against him.

-Match #1 - PNW Heavyweight Championship
PNW champ Daivari defeated Eric Right with a Camel Clutch
Big Ugly was sitting in the crowd, so he and Daivari were yelling at each other throughout the match. Afterwards, Daivari taunted Ugly with the title belt, but REFEREES MARK WATSON AND TEX THOMPSON wouldn't let Ugly in the ring.

-Joe V interviews Thunder backstage and breaks the news to him that due to his injuries, if the promoters see him in the ring again he will be fired.

-Flashback: The Billy Jack Haynes heel turn from around 1990

-The Grappler announces the name of his stable is THE GRAPPLER'S PIT.  Grappler is joined by Exile and Kahagas, who have signed contracts with him.  Wade BY GOD Hess comes out and Grappler offers him a contract.  Hess doesn't want to sign it, but Grappler says if he doesn't sign it he won't be able to feed his family.  Not really sure why Hess couldn't just wrestle without Grappler as his manager, but apparently he can't because he signed the contract.

-Joe V interviews the NEW PNW TAG TEAM CHAMPIONS THE BLANCHARD BROTHERS, along with their life coach, Mr. Ooh La La.  Jeremy still isn't happy about Ooh La La being in their corner.

-Joe V interviews Colt Toombs and Pat Large.  Large has the C for Captain painted on his chest.  Toombs very sarcastically puts over Large as the captain of the team.

-Match #2 - PNW Tag Team Championship
PNW tag champs the Blanchard Brothers defeated Pat Large and Colt Toombs when Jeremy pinned Large with a small package
Large flirts with Toombs sister in the front row.  Piper isn't happy about this on commentary. Apparently Pat Large is not son-in-law material.  Must be the pleather pants.  Large again refuses to tag Toombs in.  As team captain he must realize that Toombs is a very limited rookie.  Piper and Coss see it differently and urge Large to make the tag throughout the match.  Large hits a very impressive superplex on Bubba, then finally makes the hot tag.  Toombs cleans house and is going to put Jeremy in the figure four, but Large insists on being tagged back in, where Jeremy cradles him for the win.  You can tell Toombs has rich parents, because he had no problem giving up the tag team title just to prove a point to Large.

-Joe V interviews Big Ugly, who gets the crowd chanting "Daivari fears Ugly."  He isn't happy that Daivari faced Eric Right, while he has to face Dr. Kliever.  He calls Kliever the first real challenge he's faced since being in PWU.

-Match #3
Big Ugly defeated Dr. Kliever via submission (I have NO idea what to call the move he used)
Daivari came to ringside to watch the match, but stormed off in a huff when Ugly won.

-Match #4
Quiz, CJ Edwards, and La Trueno defeated Exile, Kahagas, and Wade BY GOD Hess by DQ
La Trueno is obviously Thunder under a mask, and I'm not just saying that because Trueno means Thunder.  Funny moment at the start where Quiz "translates" everyone's name for Trueno.  Hess walked out on his team about five minutes into the match.  While Exile has Quiz in a modified camel clutch, Quiz is yelling "you're too big for this."  When Trueno finally tags in, Kahagas ambushes him with a kendo stick for the DQ.

-Piper comes on and very sadly informs us that KPTV had given him 13 weeks for the show, and those 13 weeks are up.  BUT ITS A SWERVE!  Because he has just signed to do 52 more episodes! The new episodes begin February 16th, so I'm guessing the next couple weeks will be Best Of's.  I'm not going to bother recapping Best Of shows, so this report will be back on February 16th as well.

BCW results - Portland, OR 1/20/13

Like usual I only have results from the main event.  I should start calling these reports BCW result. Anyway, in the main event this week, Keith Atkins, Brian Bedlam, and Eddie Van Damon defeated Buddy Highway and Tommy Celcious when Van Damon pinned Celcious with a schoolboy after Bedlam blew something in Celcious' face.

Video here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nR61njYH_4w

I heard there was some kind of altercation with Buddy Highway and some fans after the match.  As a huge fan of wrestling riots and general chaos, I'd love a report on what actually happened.  Anyone who was there and can clear that up, shoot me an e-mail at pnwprowrestling@gmail.com

Portland Wrestling Uncut T.V. recap - 1/19/13

-Piper & Coss open the show.  Piper says since Big Ugly went to a time limit draw with Daivari last week that makes him the #1 contender.  If he had beat him it would have made him champion.

-Joe V interviews the Grappler & Exile.  They realize Wade BY GOD Hess isn't with them, which is not good since he's Exile's partner in the tag team title match later.  Hess comes out.  He still doesn't like Grappler or Exile.  Thunder comes out with $1,000 cash (the deal is Thunder is hurt and the commission will fine him $1,000 if he ignores them and wrestles) and tells Grappler he will be wrestling tonight.  Exile had the line of the night when Thunder pulled out the cash, "Somebody mortgaged their trailer."

-Match #1
Thunder defeated Ethan HD via pinfall after a Dominator (at least that's what Faarooq called it in 1996)
Piper points out that a pro wrestler is supposed to get paid to wrestle, not pay to do it.  That may have been the case in your day Hot Rod, but things are different in 2013.

-Joe V plugs some upcoming live events and then interviews Pat Large.  He has a C painted on his chest, which means he is the captain in his team with Colt Toombs.  He says since he's been in PWU he has been drinking beer with Steve Austin and will be in The Rock's next movie.  Large starts hitting on Toomb's sister, who is in the audience.  She says no, but Large thinks she said yes.

-Flashback: footage from a 1978 Battle Royal

-Joe V interviews Big Ugly.  Ugly warns Joe V that if he catches him outside his window with his pants down again there will be problems.  Ugly says the next time he faces Daivari he will win the title.

-Match #2
Big Ugly defeated Buddy Highway via pinfall with a sunset flip off the middle turnbuckle after Highway missed a shoulder block

-Joe V interviews the Grappler, who brings out the newest member of his stable - Kahagas the Tokyo Monster.  This guy appears to be doing a Kabuki gimmick.

-Match #3
Dr. Kliever defeated Kahagas by DQ when Kahagas wouldn't stop attacking Kliever in the ropes (or maybe it was for shoving REFEREE TEX THOMPSON).  After the match, Kahagas started hitting Kliever with his kendo stick.  CJ Edwards (and someone else who wasn't identified and I couldn't make out) runs in for the save and gets beat up for his trouble.

-Joe V interviews Mike Santiago, who has aggression and plans to use it to be a success in 2013. He's off to a good start.  He was in a pretty damn good 60-minute Iron Man match with Quiz on last week's DOA show.

-Match #4
Mike Santiago defeated Matt Farmer via pinfall after a spinning forearm smash

-Joe V interviews the Blanchard Brothers and their LIFE COACH Mr. Ooh La La.  Bubba Blanchard is so freaking awesome.  That is all.

-Match #5 - Finals of the PNW Tag Team Championship Tournament
The Blanchard Brothers defeated Wade BY GOD Hess & Exile when Bubba pinned Hess
Jeremy was sporting a WORLD FAMOUS FLEA MARKET t-shirt on his way to the ring.  YouTube it. The finish saw Thunder come out and chase the Grappler into the ring.  Hess tripped over Grappler trying to suplex Bubba, causing Bubba to land on him and get the pinfall, which the ref counted despite Grappler being right there in the middle of the ring.  After the match, Bubba cuts a promo that would make Superstar Graham smile.

-The show ended with Hess, Grappler, Thunder, and Exile all argueing in the back.  Kabuki, I mean Kahagas ran in with his kendo stick, presumably to hit Thunder, but the show ended before that happened.

Hulk Hogan in Portland - 1986

Interesting articles about Hulk Hogan coming to Portland and not drawing the big crowds he was drawing elsewhere in the country.  There are also some comments from Don Owen regarding Billy Jack Haynes going to the WWF.

Portland Wrestling Uncut T.V. recap - 1/12/13

-Don Coss & Roddy Piper open the show. The show is SO much better when Piper is on commentary, which is probably why he has been lately.

-Joe V interviews Daivari in the ring.  He is furious with Big Ugly, even saying Ugly is a thief like all Mexicans.  Big Ugly comes out, heads up into the bleachers with the crowd, and makes some jokes about being a Mexican.  They trash talk and set up a match for later in the show.

-Match #1 - Making the Cut
Jorel Nelson defeated Christopher Ryseck via pinfall with a Downward Spiral.  If you want Nelson to get a spot on the roster, visit the PWU twitter or facebook and let them know.

-Joe V interviews the Blanchard Brothers.  Bubba introduces their new life coach, Mr. Ooh La La, who is there to repair the brothers relationship.  Jeremy is not happy about this.

-Flashback: Clip of Scotty the Body (Raven) picking up a win over Beetlejuice (Art Barr) with a handful of tights (I'd guess from 1989)

-Joe V interviews Quiz & CJ Edwards: after reviewing footage of their loss to Colt Toombs & Pat Large last week, Toombs was not the legal man when he scored the pinfall because he missed the tag by an inch.  Quiz wants Toombs and Large to come out and explain themselves, which they do.   Joe V keeps asking Toombs if he was legal, but Large interrupts and says he was.  Toombs finally admits he wasn't legal and gives the match to Quiz and Edwards, which seems like terrible logic. If the finish was disputed, shouldn't there be a rematch, not automatically giving the losers the match?

-Match #2 - Tag Team Title Tournament Semi-Finals
The Blanchard Brothers (w/ Mr. Ooh La La) defeated Quiz & CJ Edwards when Jeremy pinned Edwards after a Canadian Destroyer

-Joe V interviews Wade BY GOD Hess, Exile, and the Grappler. Hess still isn't happy about teaming with Exile and wishes he could team with Thunder (which isn't possible since the storyline is the promoters won't allow Thunder to wrestle due to injury, and will fine him $1,000 and suspend his wrestling license if he does). Thunder comes out and argues with Grappler, who has Thunder removed by security.

-Match #3 - Tag Team Title Tournament Semi-Finals
Wade BY GOD Hess & Exile (w/ the Grappler) defeated Caden Matthews & DeMarcus James when Hess pinned James after a lariat.  The story here is that Hess and Exile don't like each other, which makes sense, since tag team partners should ALWAYS hate each other.  Exile destroys James with a powerbomb. Hess steals the tag and finishes him with the lariat. Grappler tries to raise both men's arms, but Hess wants nothing to do with it and storms off.

-Match #4 - PNW Heavyweight Championship
PNW champ Daivari wrestled Big Ugly (from Mexican Samoa) to a TV time limit draw
Coss says this is a main event even at Madison Square Garden. Even Piper sounded embarrassed by that one. Ugly had Daivari in a crazy leg lock submission hold. The time limit ran out and the bell rang a split second before Daivari tapped out. Daivari got this belt back and retreated.

DOA Rumble results - Portland 1/13/13

Quick results:
1) Ricky Gibson def. Cameron Starr
2) Nate Andrews & Wade Hess def. the Blanchard Brothers (w/ Mr. Ooh La La)
3) Ethan HD & Jorel Nelson def. Eric Right & Jonas Albert Robinson
4) Exile won the DOA Rumble
5) DOA champ Home Boy Quiz drew Pure champ Mike Santiago in a 60-minute Iron Man match with a score of 2-2

We're only 13 days into January and I'm pretty sure I may have just seen the show of the year.  The fourth annual DOA Rumble was held at a new venue, the East Portland Moose Lodge.  The room was pretty tight, and from what I heard it was a legit sell out.  There certainly weren't any empty seats, and I'd guess around 150 to 200 people.  The ceiling was very low, which pretty much eliminated top rope moves.  Although it sounds like they may be fixing the roof for upcoming shows, as well as opening the wall for more seating.  Overall, I really liked the venue, and being in a Lodge means hot food and beer.

They are doing something new, which is having a prelim match just before, or right at, start time.  I like this, since pretty much every indy I've ever gone to in the last 20 years has started late. In said prelim, Rock'n Ricky Gibson pinned Cameron Starr.

Nate Andrews & Wade BY GOD Hess defeated the Blanchard Brothers when Andrews pinned Bubba. Solid tag team match. Andrews is getting really good, the crowd loves Hess, and you can never go wrong with a Blanchards match.

Ethan HD & Jorel Nelson defeated Eric Right & Jonas Albert Robinson when Ethan pinned Right. Most nights this probably would have been the best match on the card. Really good, lots of hot moves, but nothing could touch the Iron Man.

Pat Large showed up during intermission and got into it with Kevin Brandt.  I couldn't hear them very well, so I'm kind of confused what the angle is all about.  I do know Large is suspended (or fired) and not supposed to be here.  The referees threw Large out of the building, and almost mowed my wife down in the process.  Bad timing on that smoke break (she wasn't actually smoking, and if I don't clarify that she will be pissed).

DOA Rumble as seen by my iPhone
Exile won the DOA Rumble.  The participants, in order of entrance: Draven Vargas, Nate Andrews, Jorel Nelson, CJ Edwards, Kellen Raeth, Cameron Starr, Jeremy Blanchard, Avarice, Eric Right, Chuck Payne, Mary Jane Payne, JSinn Sullivan, Bubba Blanchard, Wade Hess, Jonas Robinson, Ricky Gibson, Exile, Ethan HD, and Dr. Kliever.  Pat Large also ran in several times throughout the match, only to be eliminated and thrown out of the building.  MJ was in as a female participant and took some HARD chops from Jeremy Blanchard.  They were absolutely brutal.  There was also a funny spot where she was used as a battering ram into JSinn's crotch.  The final four were Hess, JSinn, Exile, and Kliever.  It came down to the former tag champs, with Exile eliminating Kliever for the win.  This earns him a shot at the DOA title at the next show (I think).

Main event was the 60-minute Iron Man match with the DOA champ Home Boy Quiz against the Pure champ Mike Santiago with both titles on the line.  To be honest, I was really worried this match would suck.  Sixty minutes is a long time, and I've seen top level guys have stinkers.  But these guys proved me wrong.  The match was never boring, and they went at a really fast clip for the entire hour.  Both of these guys should be really proud of what they did here.  Santiago took the first fall when Quiz didn't answer a 10 count in the ring (20:02 on my SUPER UNOFFICIAL STOP WATCH).  Quiz won the second fall the same way, via 10 count (24:24).  Quiz took the third fall via pinfall after a scissor kick (30:44).  Santiago won the fourth fall with a roll up and a handful of tights (31:26).  They then went the distance tied at 2 and the match was ruled a draw.  All the wrestlers came out and watched the match, and their reactions really added to the atmosphere.  The crowd was SUPER into this match, which Quiz and Santiago should be commended for, because keeping a crowd that hot for so long isn't easy to do.  I didn't like the finish, with no winner, but the story they were telling is these guys are equals and now the top level main event guys.  Post-match saw all the wrestlers get into the ring to congratulate them, and then Quiz and Santiago made up and heaped praises on each other, before Quiz cut a quick promo on Exile to close the show.  I can't stress enough how good this match was. Easily one of the best I've ever seen in the area.

BCW results - Portland 1/6/13

I've only been able to piece together a couple results from Sunday's BCW show.

Buddy Highway, who has my favorite nickname in all of northwest wrestling, THE GRESHAM SAVIOR, defeated Demarcus James in a strap match to win the BCW title.

Video of the match here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xBhdviL44Dk

JB Moonshine & Cousin Jameson defeated Wonderfully Vicious (Big V & Zack Winters)

Video of the match here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jOPGetiPaRs

Daivari was also on the card and wrestled Keith Atkins, but I don't have a result for that one.

If anyone goes to these events regularly and can provide results for the blog send them to pnwprowrestling@gmail.com.  I plan to go to the event on 2/2, which will be my first BCW show, so I'll have a full write up of that card.

WWF debuts in Portland - 1985

I thought everyone would get a kick out of these Oregonian articles talking about the WWF invading the territory.

Portland Wrestling Uncut T.V. recap - 1/5/13

-Coss & Piper open the show

-Daivari comes to the ring and complains about Santa stealing his title.  He knows who Santa was and will PROVE IT TONIGHT!

-In the back, Joe V is drawing random names of singles wrestlers to form teams for the tag team title tournament.  Dr. Kliever ends up with Christopher Ryseck.  Kliever seems fine with this, but Ryseck is not.  Colt Toombs wonders onto camera and wants to draw a name.  BUT THERE IS ONLY ONE NAME LEFT! So if Toombs wants in the tournament he has to team with Pat Large.  Large and Toombs reluctantly agree to team.

-Promo for Tuesday's live event at the Milwaukie Elks Lodge, ANNOUNCING NO MATCHES.

-Match #1 - Tag Team Title Tournament
Colt Toombs & Pat Large defeated CJ Edwards & Quiz when Toombs pinned Edwards after a Superman Punch
The story of the match was Large refused to tag in the entire match until the very end when he had no choice.  Toombs then hit a Superman Punch on Edwards and won the match in 30 seconds.  Large then celebrated like he won the match.

-Flashback - Buddy Rose attempts to turn on Dynamite Kid after they lose a tag team match, but Dynamite swerves him and Rose ends up getting beat up by Dynamite, Rip Oliver, and the Assassin.  Back when I was trading tapes years ago, this was a pretty famous tape, THE BUDDY ROSE FACE TURN.

-Joe V interviews Thunder & Wade BY GOD Hess.  Thunder is not allowed to wrestle in the tournament due to his injuries, and if he attempts to wrestle he will be fined $1,000.  Thunder is not happy.  The Grappler brings Exlie out and offers him to be Hess' partner.  Nobody likes each other, but Hess & Exile will team anyway.

-Match #2 - Tag Team Title Tournament
Wade Hess & Exile def. Mike Santiago & Tommy Celsius when Exile pinned Celsius after a spear
No, Celsius did not dance, which pretty much ruined this entire match for me.

-Joe V introduces a new segment called "Making the Cut" where fans can vote via twitter if a guy is allowed on the roster.  This week's contestant, Rock'n Ricky Gibson.  He deliveries a pretty good promo and heads to the ring.

-Match #3 - Making the Cut
Ricky Gibson defeated Eric Right by reversing a suplex into an inside cradle
Mr. Ooh La La makes his PWU debut by coming out to scout the match.  If you want Gibson to get a spot on the roster, go to the PWU facebook page and vote.

-Joe V interviewed the Blanchard Brothers.  They put over the PNW tag team title.  Apparently last week's matches were not part of the tournament, even though they were announced as such.

-Match #4 - Tag Team Title Tournament
The Blanchard Brothers defeated Dr. Kliever & Christopher Ryseck when Jeremy pinned Ryseck after giving him a Cutter while Bubba had him up in a wheel barrow position

-Santa Claus came to the ring with Daivari's PNW title belt and unbeards to reveal BIG UGLY!  His wife beater has UGLY CLAUS written on it.  Ugly basically apologizes for being a heel the last couple months, then cuts a promo on Daivari explaining he's a disgrace to the PNW title, etc, etc.  Of course, Daivari runs out and they brawl, which ends with Ugly once again STEALING THE TITLE BELT!!

Lots of commercials ran for the live event on Tuesday, but not one match was announced, which seems pretty crazy.  If anyone goes, please e-mail me a report at pnwprowrestling@gmail.com

Portland Wrestling Uncut T.V. recap - 12/29/12

-Show opens with Rowdy Roddy Piper at Harvey's Comedy Club.  He promptly brings Joe V out dressed in a ridiculous elf outfit.  Piper runs off to prepare for his one man show, while Joe V introduces the new commissioner of PWU, Barry Kolin, who google tells me is the owner of Harvey's.  Kolin promises the championship situation will be settled tonight.

-Don Coss and the Governor Wilson Kain open the show from the arena

Match #1 - Tag Team Title Tournament
DeMarcus James & Caden Matthews def. Gentleman George & Eric Right when James pinned Right after he was distracted arguing with George
The Gov was sure to point out that Caden once appeared as a job guy on a Smackdown taping.  I really hate when indy guys constantly brag about doing TV jobs for WWE because it comes off so bush league.  Buddy Wayne, Michelle Starr, Ed Moretti, Bart Sawyer, and so on and so on did TV jobs for WWF and WCW and I'm pretty sure they never talked about them as career highlights.

-Back at Harvey's we get a clip of Piper's one man show, telling a story about Andre the Giant

-Flashback: THE BREAKFAST CLUB! A memorable moment when Grappler and Nord beat Brian Adams up with milk and cereal.  Totally serious.  Youtube it.

-Joe V interviews Colt Toombs.  His dad is protective.  He doesn't like it.

-Back on stage at Harvey's, Kolin announces Daivari is in fact the PNW Heavyweight champion.  Daivari claims his belt, says everyone in Portland sucks, and is on his way.

-A Roddy Piper comedy sketch aired, from some sort of Canadian TV show, or web site.  Not sure.  I didn't think it was that funny.  My wife laughed.  I just thought Piper's sweater looked comfortable as hell.

-The Gov interviews the Blanchard Brothers

Match #2 - Tag Team Title Tournament
The Blanchard Brothers def. Buddy Highway & C.W. Bergstrom when Jeremy pinned Highway after the Memphis Showboat, which is Jeremy clothes-lining their opponent into a German Suplex by Bubba.
The announcers point out that Bergstrom was the last legit PNW champ in 1992.  If you ignore every other promotion in the last 20 years, including DOA which has a PNW champ, who was in this match (Jeremy Blanchard).

-The Grappler hates holidays

-Back on stage, Piper introduces a really well done video on Thunder, which has aired before.  He then brings Thunder on stage to present him with the appropriately named Thunder Award, which is for courage and performance far above the level expected.  Daivari interrupts the festivities, but all the wrestlers prevent him and Thunder from fighting.  During the commotion, Santa Claus steals Daivari's belt.  When Daivari tries to stop him, Santa kicks his ass.  WHO THE HECK WAS SANTA?!?!?! Joe V says we'll find out next week.

DOA results - Portland 12/16/12

So I'm listening to my favorite podcast, the Art of Wrestling, and to my surprise Colt Cabana lists dates for DOA.  I was pretty happy because I missed Cabana's other shot in the Northwest for WCWC, mainly because I didn't want to drive to Salem (combination of me being incredibly lazy and hating to drive).  Obviously this show took place before I started this blog so I didn't take any notes, and since you can't find results from this area ANYWHERE on the net I'm putting this together from memory, so feel free to correct me.

-Prior to the beginning of the show, Patrick Large came out and complained about being fired.  He ended up in a brawl with someone, and I sincerely apologize I can't remember who.

-The official start of the show was Mr. Ooh La La offering JSin Sullivan and Colt Cabana contracts, which of course didn't go so well and set up the night's main event.
Sweet photography from my iPhone

Match results aren't in any particular order, this is just what I can remember:

1) Colt Cabana, JSin Sullivan, & Wade Hess def. the Blanchard Brothers & Big Ugly

2) DOA champ Quiz NC Pure champ Mike Santiago, which set up their 60-minute Iron Man match in January

3) Bishop & Sid Asylum def. DOA tag team champs Exile & Dr. Kliever to win the title.  Exile and Kliever teased a break up to set up EVERY MAN FOR HIMSELF in the DOA Rumble in January

There were several other matches on the card, but years of alcohol abuse have rendered my memory slightly less than perfect.  Please feel free to reply to the post and fill in the gaps.  I do remember Ethan HD trying to pop an obnoxious douchebag fan.  Good stuff.

On a side note, I totally marked out for Cabana.  It was fun getting to talk with him, and drop $20 on the Wrestling Road Diaries.  My wife and I watched it today and it was really fun, so I highly recommend going to www.coltmerch.com and buying a copy right now.  DO IT.

PNW Pro Wrestling Coverage

I've been a fan of pro wrestling as long as I can remember.  Living in the Portland area since I was four years old means a big part of that fandom was following wrestling in the Northwest.  When I was a kid I'd struggle to stay up late on Saturday nights to watch Portland Wrestling.  Most of the time I'd fail.

After KPTV cancelled Portland Wrestling I didn't follow local wrestling until I discovered Sandy Barr's Championship Wrestling USA on KOIN late Saturday nights.  The matches featuring Bart Sawyer, Buddy Wayne, Col. DeBeers, Ritchie Magnut, Matt Borne, Lou Andrews, Bruiser Brian, Dane Rush, Sumito, and others became a gateway for me to experience more wrestling.  In 1995, I had just started getting on the internet and discovered tape trading message boards.  I traded CWUSA shows for wrestling tapes from around the world in the days before everything was easily accessible on youtube.

After CWUSA closed up, I followed Ivan Kafoury's Portland Wrestling group that ran shows at the Aladdin Theater, the Roseland, and a flea market out by Portland Meadows.  From there, Frank Culbertson started another Portland Wrestling group, which I watched on T.V. every week.  I only attended one event, a card at the Salem-Keizer Volcanoes Stadium that featured Jimmy Snuka and Rowdy Roddy Piper.

When Culbertson's group closed up I pretty much stopped following local wrestling, sans a local show here and there I'd catch on public access.  It wasn't until a couple years ago that I began attending events again.  My wife was close with the promoters of NWWA, and we started going to the cards at the Milwaukie Elks Lodge.  From there we started going to DOA, and now with the emergence of Portland Wrestling Uncut, there is plenty to be excited about for local fans in the Portland area.

But I do have one huge annoyance.  There doesn't appear to be anywhere to easily find  results of cards you miss, or upcoming event info.  I use to read the CCK message boards, but those died out.  I know about Mike Rogers' newsletter, but that isn't online.  So I thought I could rectify that situation by starting up this blog.  My hope is others will discover this blog and share results and upcoming event info with me so we can have an easy place for PNW fans to catch up on local wrestling.
